Richard “Dickie” McGuire, Jr. of Middletown died on February 13, 2019. He was 67 years old. He courageously fought his lengthy battle with cancer and was strong right until the end.
He was born on August 14, 1951 in Middletown, New York to Richard J. McGuire, Sr. and Louise Eickmeyer.
He was a Marine Veteran and served in Vietnam from 1969-1971.
Dickie was always smiling and extremely helpful to everyone he met… he was loved by all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laurene at home, two sons, Richard McGuire III ( Jill) of Syracuse, New York, and Brian McGuire (Kim) also of Syracuse, New York, one step-son, Raymond Burton( Kristina) of Greenville, New York, one daughter Lisa Tracy of Hamilton, New York, brothers; Daniel, Michael (Doreen) of Middletown, Father-in-law Fred Kubik Sr., brother-in -law Fred Kubik Jr. of Middletown, sisters; Patricia Locatell (Frank) of Goshen, New York and Colleen Bates of Otisville, New York, grandchildren; Brian Jr., Brianna, Ethan, Zuleima, Ava, Raymond, Dominic and Alex, and many nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his parents and step-daughter Jessica Burton.

Visitation is Monday, February 18, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 19 at 10 A.M. at Our lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Euclid Avenue, Middletown, New York. Burial, with Military Honors will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Craigville Road, Goshen, New York
