Obituary for Brayden Kade Ackermann
Brayden Kade Ackermann
December 19, 2013-May 29, 2018
Middletown, NY
Brayden Kade Ackermann, beloved son of Michael and Michelle Moore Ackermann and twin brother to Landon Michael Ackermann, died at home surrounded by his loving family. He was only four years old. At the age of two, Brayden was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and he fought courageously for his life for over two years.
Brayden was born on December 19, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a happy and active little boy who loved trucks of all kinds, especially firetrucks. He loved work tools, and was a handyman. He spent a lot of his time doing his “work”. During his treatments and hospitalizations, he found ways to stay busy, keep happy and usually make everyone around him smile. His outlook and attitude was inspirational. Brayden was loved by everyone who got to meet him in his short time with us on earth. He has had an army of friends and family behind him on his journey who are all devastated by his loss.
In addition to his twin brother, Landon Michael and his grandparents, Andrew and Susan Ackermann and Robert and Lisa Moore; Brayden is survived by many members of his extended family and a legion of friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. At 7:30 pm, Pastor Rob Hewitt will conduct a Celebration of Brayden Kade Ackermann’s Life at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
Memorial donations in Brayden’s name may be made to www.ironmatt.org, The Matthew Larson Foundation for Pediatric Brain Tumors, an organization that assisted Brayden and his family during his illness. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com.
