BERNADINE COLETTE ALIKHAN 76, passed away on December 4, 2022 in Middletown, NY.
Bernadine was born April 29, 1946 to the late Calvin Ames and Yetta Ames in Brooklyn NY. Bernadine met and married Shaffir Alikhan and out of this union they had 5 children Zorah, Shaffir Jr. , Shaheed, Shakir, and Shahzad.
It was at work where she met and fell in love with Shaffir. They would later relocate to Middletown, NY. There, Bernadine owned her own business and when she wasn’t working she was a homemaker and housewife. It was there they would share 58 years of marriage.She enjoyed dining at various restaurants, and spending time with her ever growing family. She also enjoyed shopping, going to the movies, traveling the world and family vacations at Myrtle Beach.
Bernadine was a loving mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, aunt, sister in law and a special friend. Bernadine was a ball of fun. Her favorite saying was “mhm” and messing up her children’s and grandchildren’s names. Welcoming would be an understatement when describing Bernadine. She enjoyed her family and looked forward to every family event to spend quality time. Family was everything to her.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Nathalie’Doree, and Ronnie. She leaves to morn her husband Shaffir, siblings Desmond, Gavin, Kala, Cal, Johntrey, Nathalie children Zorah of Middletown NY Shaffir Jr and (Dorothee) of Germany, Shaheed of Middletown NY Shakir and (Ashley) of Bloomingburg NY, Shahzad of Middletown NY. Surviving grandchildren Tamika, Pedro (Jessica), Nazira, Charles Jr, Leah, Lukas, Alexa, and Carson. Great grandchildren, Zariyah, Frankie, Syrai, Harlynn, Lennox, and Marlee. And a slew of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
