Ronald Laks, of Middletown, died unexpectedly on September 18, 2017 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 71.
The son of the late William and Gerry Laks, he was born on January 15, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. He married Fern Marcus on February 7, 1971 and they shared 50 years together.
Ron was a Linotype Operator for the Typographical Union #6. His hobbies included wood working, working around the house, computers, going to auctions, online shopping, and going to food buffets. He enjoyed swimming everyday at the YMCA and being a grandfather. Ron built his dream home, a log cabin in the woods. He loved to help others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Fern Laks; his daughter, Melissa Laks and son-in-law Enrico LoCicero; sister Susan Laks; and his beloved grandchildren, Erica, Liam and Alexis LoCicero; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Steven Laks, as well as his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the YMCA of Middletown, 81 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY 10940.
