Obituary for Balram Lloyd Rajcoomar
Balram Lloyd Rajcoomar
March 1, 1948-February 5, 2022
Middletown, NY

Balram Rajcoomar was born in British Guyana in 1948. He was the first born son of Ramdai and Willy Rajcoomar. He had three brothers Walter, William, and Lionel and six sisters Faye, Daphne, Ruby, Rita, Juliet and Jean. He was a faithful and loving husband to his wife Luz Rajcoomar and with her his three loving children Helen, Mark, Anthony and his daughter in law Stephanie Melowsky.

Balram came to the US with dreams of creating a family and living the American Dream. He found himself as a teacher, Accountant, and a well respected employee of TransAmerica and GE. His Co workers referred to him as Mr. B. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

He enjoyed listening to his Indian music, getting involved in horse racing, and watching his Yankees and favorite boxers compete. He sung his children songs to put them to sleep and referred to them as "love". He never once hesitated to give his children, wife, or family what was needed.

He was a great cook who loved to make Indian dishes, a master gardener, built structures like pool decks off his own legs and hands. He was a great swimmer once swimming from each end of City island in the Bronx showing off to his wife.

Balram was a jokester who loved to make those around him laugh, and he loved to dance getting lost often in the music while dancing in funny ways. Patsy Cline, Lady in red and romantic 50's Era music was what he listened to most. He was so proud to hold his 3 grandchildren London, Paris, Keana, and would tell his son this is the one referring to his son Anthony's wife Stephanie.

He enjoyed sitting on the balcony in Puerto Rico watching the ocean and would get so happy during family gatherings. He was smart, loving and strong all the way through his life, with a inviting shirt off his back spirit to those in need, and so he will be dearly missed by many.
