Tessie L. Rivera, , a twenty year resident of Middletown NY originally a resident of Rockland County NY, died unexpectedly on July 6, 2021 at her home. She was 53.
The daughter of the late Marion Conklin Benjamin, she was born on January 15, 1968 in Suffern, NY. Tessie worked as an LPN for Middletown Park Manor until her retirement. She married Luis Rivera, who predeceased her on February 17, 2002. Tessie was a great Mom , sister and grandmother. Her artistic talents included gardening and painting and she enjoyed psychedelic artwork.
Tessie is survived by her father; Charles Benjamin, children ,Robert Rivera of Middletown, Luis Rivera of Warwick, and Katlyn Stevens of Middletown; her siblings, Wayne Gibbs and his wife Shelby of Monroe, Tina Benjamin of Wurtsboro and Charlene Benjamin of Ellenville and one grandchild. As well many aunts, cousins and uncles.
In addition to her husband and mother, Tessie was predeceased by her son, Aaron Benjamin, and brothers, Jobie and Alfred McCown.
Cremation was private. Visitation will begin at 9am on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, MIddletown, NY 10940. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am at the funeral home on Tuesday morning, burial of ashes will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen.
