Obituary for Wilma J. Holmes
Wilma J. Holmes passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023. Wilma was born in Wilhelm-Hafen Austria on March 27, 1928. She moved to New York in the 1950’s. Wilma was a long-time resident of Orange County. She worked as a paralegal in NYC and later became successful businesswoman, becoming a licensed real estate broker, retiring at age of 82. Wilma was a one of the founding members of the German American club of Middletown, NY. Where she served as president for many years. Wilma's passion was dancing. Her love of dancing took her all over the world. She danced happily well into her nineties.
Wilma is predeceased by her two children, her husband Edward and stepdaughter Karen. She is survived by Harry Ziem, her two grandsons, Kenneth & Nicholas Ziem. And her longtime companion and caregiver, Vera Grosky.
Wilma's viewing will be on Wednesday Jan. 3, 2024 from 10 to 12 at Applebee- McPhillips funeral home in Middletown, NY. Following the viewing, Wilma will be laid to rest next to her husband at the St. Stephen's cemetery in Warwick, NY
