Obituary for William Roger Brown, Jr.
William Roger Brown Jr., 61, of Encino, CA, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Born in Middletown, NY, Billy was the son of Deanna (Humphrey) Brown and the late William Roger Brown, Sr. Billy graduated from Minisink Valley High School in 1977.
In NY, Billy worked as a Land Surveyor for what is now Eustace Engineering before moving to the Los Angeles, CA area in 1988, where he became a Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.), working for Sikand Engineering.
Despite being relatively quiet and soft spoken, Billy was also known for his physical presence, partially due to his dedication as a bodybuilder, successfully competing in various competitions across NY state. Even when no longer competing, Billy loved to stay physically fit. Billy was also a historical music trivia wiz, as he could often identify the artist of even the most obscure songs, from practically any decade. Billy cherished his family and friends, always making the attempt to keep in touch with everyone despite geographical distances.
In addition to his mother Deanna Brown of Cuddebackville, NY, Billy is survived by his brother Marc Brown and his wife Cindy of Marlborough, MA; his uncle (like a brother) Robert Humphrey and his wife Tammy of Milford, PA; nephews Adrian Brown of Los Angeles, CA and Jordan Brown of Marlborough, MA; stepmother Margie Brown and stepbrother Calen Bradley of Bloomingburg, NY; and significant other and soul mate of 19 years, Tina Firestone of Woodland Hills, CA. He is predeceased by his father William Brown Sr. of Bloomingburg, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY on Friday, October 1, 2021, 5-7 pm, with reflections and memories at 6 pm.
