William Robert Finkle
July 30, 1946-December 20, 2013
Middletown, NY
William “Bob” Finkle, a longtime area resident, died following a long illness on December 20, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 67.
The son of the late Isaac and Maude Titch Finkle, he was born on July 30, 1946 in Margaretville, NY. Bob started out as a Mental Health Counselor for Orange County, but left to pursue a career in Accounting. He earned his MBA from Iona College and worked for a number of large accounting firms, ultimately retiring as CFO of Multimatic Corporation in Orangeburg, NY. He then formed his own tax and financial planning business. About 5 years ago, he and his wife developed their property and certified their farm, Shady Acres as organic.
Bob loved being a farmer most of all. He enjoyed going to farmers’ markets and sharing his knowledge of sustainable organic agriculture with others. His tours of the farm are memorable as were his projects.
Bob had a passion for learning. He loved exploring and researching a variety of cultures and religions. He cherished art and music. He loved talking politics. He had a passion for painting and enjoyed expressing himself through his art along with a number of other creative activities. He enjoyed the challenge of mastering his skills.
Most of all, Bob had an optimism that surpassed any hurdles. He was a loving father and brother and a loyal partner and friend to his wife of 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Ana; his sons, Nicolas William Wilcox and his wife Audrey and Matthew William Finkle and his wife Brittain and his daughter, Sasha Tangredi and her husband Matthew; one sister, Debra Stanton of Walton and his grandson, Tyler Tangredi.
