William J. Kemble
William J. Kemble , 90, was called home to our lord on 31 August 2022 at Middletown, NY.
Bill was born November 4, 1931 in Morristown, NJ to John V.G. Kemble, Sr. and Esther McCain Kemble who preceded
him in death. He was the youngest of three siblings (John V.G. Kemble, Jr and Sally Krom). Both siblings preceded him in death. He grew up on the family farm in Kyserike, NY. He graduated from Kingston High School before joining the United States Marine Corps, where he earned an appointment to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. During
this time he met and married Lois Greer. After their wedding they moved to College Point, NY where he began his career in sales working for Ingersoll-Rand.
His sales career saw promotions, transfer and job changes that took him and his growing family to New Orleans, San Francisco, Chicago and Detroit before moving back to Kingston, NY and opening his own business, Air Power House, in 1970.
He was most proud of his business and seeing all four of his children graduate from college.
Though he had little time for hobbies, he was a longtime member of Newburgh Yacht Club and enjoyed his days boating up and down the Hudson.
His first wife of 33 years passed away in 1989 and he soon met his second wife, Rosie Chen. They were married in 1992, traveled the world together and shared 30 years together at their home in Montgomery, NY.
He is survived by his wife Rosie, his sons, William & Ryan, his daughters, Lynne Smith & Tracey Stillman, step son Cary Wing, grandchildren Colin Kemble & Jenna Kemble, Michael Smith & Nicole Smith Brown, Lt Col. Matthew Stillman (USAF), Tamara
Stillman Calcara, Talia Stillman Waugh, and Sgt Timothy Stillman (USA) and eight great-grandchildren. Bill spent his recent few remaining years telling all visitors he was “fighting COVID-19 horizontally”
