Obituary for William J. Aquino
William J. Aquino Jr, 79, a resident of Slate Hill, NY, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Bill was a retired New York City police officer who moved his family to Slate Hill in 1974, to enjoy a simpler life in the Orange County area.
Bill took great pride in his home and his family. He loved working with his hands, restoring classic cars, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with family and friends. Never one to sit still, Bill always kept himself busy with projects at home and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. Aquino Sr and Olga T. Aquino, and his brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife Joan Aquino, his sons William J. Aquino III and Stanley Aquino, and his grandson Charles Aquino. He also leaves his brother Thomas Aquino (Mary Lynn), his two nephews Thomas and Peter, his niece Laura, and a number of cousins.
Services will be held at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home in Middletown, NY on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 5 pm to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. www.stjude.org/donate
