William B. Fallon, a 40 year area resident, died suddenly on November 9, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 75.
The son of the late Edward and Helen Stewart Fallon, he was born on August 20, 1941 in New York City. William valued both his Catholic faith and education and spent 3 years in a Catholic Seminary before finding his true calling as a teacher. He taught at John S. Burke High School, Columbia University and Nanuet Middle School. Bill loved teaching and his passion for math was contagious. He had an ability to stir interest in the subjects he taught and was always a fair and approachable professor. His smile could light up a room and his laughter was infectious.
He was compassionate and caring and when he was aware of people's problems, he always found a way to help.
Bill was a longtime and dedicated member of a our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown, where he also served his parish as an Eucharistic minister.
Bill is survived by his beloved son, Michael Fallon at home, as well as many loving friends.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.,130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, Nov. 15th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 99 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in St. Joseph ' Cemetery, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
