A Koren War Veteran, Bill received the Occupation Medal Germany and the National Defense Medal during his time of service. While early in life he
worked for the Railroad and was in the Painters union he retired from Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center as
a Sr. Treatment Assistant after almost 25 years of service, then continued to paint well into his 70’s. He
worked two jobs most of his life working nights , sleeping only 4 hours every night then painting all day.
He had a work ethic that stood out amongst most and passed that onto his children. He loved watching
boats, tending to his lawn, was an avid dog lover and having a cold beer. He was a fixer and would often
be found tinkering with something that wasn’t working until he fixed.
We thank all those that helped to care for him in recent years including Belle Reeve and Scranton
Inpatient Hospice Unit.
