Obituary for William Berdy
William Berdy, a longtime area resident, died unexpectedly on July 11, 2006 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown, N.Y. He was 72.The son of the late Wasil and Martha Senko Berdy, he was born in Edwardsville, Pa.William served his country in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the Middletown American Legion Post #151. He married the former Mary Snack in June of 1968 in Mahwah, N.J.William worked for Ford Motor Company as a security guard in both Mahwah and Edison, N.J. until his retirement in 1999.A family statement reads: "He was the perfect father and husband. We were blessed to have had him in our lives."William is survived by his loving wife, Mary, and one son, William J. Berdy, both of Middletown; one daughter, Alane Berdy of Lake Worth, Fla.; a brother, Allan and his wife, Georgine, and sister, Anne Slavinski, both of Pennsylvania.Friends and family may call on Thursday, July 13, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, N.Y.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Euclid Ave., Middletown, N.Y.
