Werner Markel, of Circleville N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2009.
He was born on October 8, 1954 to Robert and Elisabeth Markel,
in Sighisoara, Romania. A gifted craftsman, he loved sharing his exceptional talents with his family and friends. Werner was a dedicated family man who built his home and had a great love for the many animals he rescued.
He is survived by his loving wife, Adrienne, two daughters, Jacqueline Diane Markel of Newington, CT and Kimberly Sara Markel of Baltimore, MD, one sister, Anneliese Markel of Catasauqua, PA, three brothers, Richard and his wife Theresa of Riverhead, LI, Robert of Bath, NY , Michael and his wife Dawn of Carlisle, PA., the Auner family, the Schuller family and many nephews, nieces and cousins, including those in Germany.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2009 from 4-7 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, N.Y.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the funeral home. Pastor Peter Rustico will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
