Obituary for Wanda Kiely-Hasley
Wanda Kiely-Hasley of Middletown, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus, Middletown, N.Y. She was 50.
The daughter of the late Jeremiah and Carmen Gonzalez Kiely, she was born April 15, 1956 in New York City, N.Y.
Originally from Manhattan, she moved to the Middletown area 13 years ago.
Wanda was trained as a funeral director and worked at Discovery Zone in Middletown. She was a member of the East Middletown Kingdom Hall Congregation.
A family statement reads: "She was our lighthouse. No matter how thick the fog got, she always pulled us out of it. Wanda always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She never complained, regardless of how bad the suffering got."
She is survived by her husband, Robert Halsey, and one son, Robert Matthew Halsey, both at home; two daughters, Shanae and her husband, Stephen Currin, of Middletown, and Renita Halsey of Queens, N.Y.; and three grandsons: Joshua and Kieth Currin of Middletown, and Justin Snorgrass of Queens, N.Y.
Friends may call on Wednesday, April 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. Cremation will be private at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middlehope, N.Y.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
