Obituary for Walter F. Howe
Walter F. Howe, a longtime area resident died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus. He was 75 years old. The son of the late Charles and Frances Grote Howe, Walter was born July 6, 1931 in Pine Bush, NY. A proud veteran of the Korean War, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. A Family statement reads, “ Walter was a hard working family man whose favorite pastime was fishing with his dog, Pete” He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen, at home; four sons Kevin Howe and his wife, Kathleen of Bloomingburg, Charles Howe of Bloomingburg, Walter Howe and his wife, Marion, of Middletown, and Christopher at home; two daughters Bonnie Crawford of Middletown, Dawn Conklin of New Hampton; four stepdaughters Kathleen Howe of Bloomingburg, Linda Engel of Fishkill, Mary Conklin of Stroudsburg, PA, Jennifer Maldonado of Crawford; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; his brother Luther Howe and his wife, Jane, of Walden; his sister Louise DeRosa of Campbell Hall; and several nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by three brothers, Clifford, Davis, and Robert, and his sister, Ella Conway. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
