Virginia Shea, a longtime resident of Montgomery, died on Friday, March 26, 2010 following a short illness at St. Vincent's hospital in New York City. She was 68.
The daughter of Grace and Edward F. MacNeil, Ginny was born on October 19, 1941 in Providence, R.I.. On September 1, 1962, she married James Shea, Sr. at St. Anne’s Church in Nyack, NY. She worked at Rosenbaum's Jewelry store for many years and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Bullville.
Ginny was a generous and caring person whose family meant the world to her. She cared for them all, including her St. Paul’s family. She looked forward to spending time with and traveling with her family and friends and especially enjoyed her trips to Ireland.
She is survived by her loving husband James Shea, Sr., at home; her son, James ,Jr and his wife Roberta; her mother, Grace Chinn and her husband Harry; brother Richard MacNeil and his wife Maureen of Pine Bush; sister Barbara Lawrence and her husband Dennis of FL; and two beloved grandchildren, Rebecca and Julie.
Cremation will be private. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, Rt. 17 K in Bullville, NY. Fr. Patrick McGuigan, O. Carm. will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ginny’s name to be made to St. Paul’ s Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 222, Bullville, NY, 10915.
