Virginia “Ann” Dragone

Virginia “Ann” Dragone, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Monday, June 23, 2014 following a long illness at Elant at Goshen. She was 90.
The daughter of the late James and Maria Versaci Distefano, she was born on March 29, 1924 in New York City. Ann was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown as well as a member of the Catholic Daughters Court Rosemary and the Altar Rosary Society. Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Frank P. Dragone in 1981, her son Sgt. JamesDragone and siblings Mae Soderblom, Mildred Dragone, Mary Napolitano, Anthony and Joseph Distefano.
Ann is survived by her son Frank D. Dragone and his wife Marty of Middleotwn and her grandchildren, Jessica and Peter Ippolito, Jacqueline Dragone and her partner David and Jeffra Nair and her husband Santosh and six great-grandchildren, James, Ashlee, Kyle, Davis, Jackson and Raiden.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, June 26th at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Middletown.
