Vincenzo “Vince/Vinny” Fratto

Vincenzo Fratto, age 72, of Middletown NY, passed away at Hackensack University Medical Center, on Wednesday July 2nd 2024.
He was born in San Giovanni D’Albi, Provenzia Of Catanzaro, Calabria Italy and immigrated with his family to the
“Little Italy " section of Middletown NY as a young boy. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1971 where he played varsity soccer. Vince earned his bachelor of arts degree from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1975 and his masters of social work from Adelphi University in 1980. He retired from Sullivan County Boces in 2014 as a school social worker.
Vince coached both of his children and many others within the Middletown Youth Soccer Association. He was one of the founders and the first president of the Raffaello Lodge #2661, Order Sons of Italy in America, located in Middletown NY. Vince’s joys in life were anything involving soccer, counseling and helping others, the lobsters in Rhode Island, the beaches of Emerald Isle, NC and south Florida, a leisure game of golf, and “good booze, good food, good people” as he always said. Most importantly, above anything else Vince loved and valued every second spent with his family.
Vince is predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Maria Scumaci-Fratto, his brothers Luigi, Rosario, and Francesco Fratto and sister Carmela Durante as well as his longtime companion, Nancy Jordan. He is survived by his son Michael Fratto, wife Danielle and grandchildren Nicholas and Emma; daughter Sarah Santana, husband Steven and grandchildren Sloane and
Stella as well as his sister in law, Eluisa Fratto and a ton of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10am-1pm on Wednesday, July 10th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc 130 Highland Ave Middletown NY 10940. A Catholic funeral service will be held at the visitation. Entombment will follow in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Middletown, NY.
