Obituary for Vincent Stewart Larkin
Vincent Stewart Larkin, 85 years old of Naples, Florida passed away quietly at home on January 29th, 2015. He suffered from CHF, but was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was born to Joseph Vincent Larkin and Martha Held Larkin in Alhambra CA. In 1955, Vincent married Carolyn Barbara Vanderbilt (deceased in 2000) of Glenmont N.Y. From 2007 to present, Vincent spent his life with his second wife, Georgiana Gallagher of Naples FL. He is survived by his oldest daughter Nancy E. Larkin of N.J., son Vincent S. Larkin, daughter-in-law Jacqueline Piche, and grandson Noah, of N.C., and granddaughter Jeni E. Larkin (daughter of Kathleen M. Larkin, deceased 2012) of N.J. Also surviving are his step-daughter Kristen, her husband Michael and their four children. Vincent graduated from Middletown High School in N.Y. He continued his studies and received a B.A. from Cornell University, followed later by an M.A. from NYU in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army. Vincent was employed by B.B.D.O. advertising firm in Manhattan, N.Y. Between 1972 to 1993, he worked as a counselor and taught psychology as an adjunct professor at Brookdale Community College in N.J. Vincent was an accomplished writer with many short stories and poetry published since 1968 in many venues. He volunteered for Jaycees in Freehold, N.J. and as a counselor for a women's group in Red Bank, N.J. Vincent enjoyed traveling the world and ethnic dining.
