Vincenzo “Vincent” Labianca, a 14 year resident of the area, died surrounded by his loving family on November 8, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 80.
The son of the late Emanuele and Catherine Russo Labianca, he was born on May 9, 1936 in Bitonto Bari, Italy. He came to the United States at the age of 29. Vincent was a talented tailor who made suits and coats and worked in the Garment industry in N.Y.C. He married Barbara Mazzara on September 3, 1966 in Queens and they shared over 50 years together. 14 years ago, Barbara and Vincent moved to the Middletown area and became members of St. Joseph’s Church. He was a life long, avid Mets fan.
In addition to his loving wife Barbara at home, he is survived by his son Emanuele of Farmingdale, NY and two daughters, Lucia Zaino and her husband Joseph of Boca Raton, FL and Angela Cangialosi and her significant other, William Gau of Otisville; and 6 grandchildren, Joseph Zaino, Michael Cangialosi, Lauren (Lorraine) Cangialosi, Catherine Zaino, Nicole Cangialosi and Michael Zaino.
He was predeceased by his grandchildren, Matthew and Emanuele.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. www.applebee-mcphillips.com
