Vincent “Jimmy “Romano, a retired store owner and area resident died on Sunday, October 28, 2018 with his family by his side at Middletown Park Manor Rehab. He was 90 years old.
The son of the late Andrea and Rosa Colandriello Romano, he was born on New York on the Lower East Side on April 8, 1928. He served honorably in the U. S. Army Counter Intelligence Unit during World War II and was recalled again to serve in the Korean War. He was a proud and dedicated Veteran.
Jimmy owned the Blooming Grove Store in the Town of Blooming Grove, Orange County, where he enjoyed the customers he served each day and many of them were not only considered customers but friends as well.
He had a love of aviation and was a licensed pilot.
Vincent “Jimmy” is survived by his son, Steven and his wife, Angela of Middletown, a son James of Queens, New York, a brother, Thomas and his wife, Helen; one sister, Beatrice, all of Schenectady, sister-in-law, Mary Jane Broedelet of Normal, Illinois, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Helen in 2006.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday. October 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home and burial will follow in the family plot at Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, New York.
