Vincent “Jimmy” Buffamonte of Middetown NY, died on Tuesday December 12 at home. He was 93.
The son of the late John and Rose Tardibone Buffamonte, he was born on November 22, 1913 in the Bronx. Jimmy was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He wed Mary LaNasa on April 22, 1935 in New York, N.Y. He moved to the Middletown area in 1976.
A family statement reads: “Jimmy was the patriarch of our family. He enjoyed trips to the casino and his gravy on Sundays. He also loved hunting, pool, playing boggle and rummy 500, but most of all he loved spending time with his wonderful family.”
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Muller of Clifton Park, and Joni Conklin of Middletown; six grandchildren, Lisa Muller, Denise Leary and her husband Bob, Dina Cantoli and her husband Michael, Tricia Muller, and Daniel and Joseph Conklin , four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Olivia, Julia and Mia; brother George Buffamonte of Queens; and sister Katie Accetta of Lynbrook, NY.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary on April 12, 1990, and two brothers, Joe and Tony.
Friends and family may call on Friday, December 15, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940,. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
