Vidya Thirkapersaud of Middletown NY, died on Monday March 14 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. He was 51.
The son of the late Thirkaperasaud and Poonderbassi Pekhoo Ramnarian, he was born on October 18, 1959 in Guyana, South America. Vidya (Anand) married Hardai Seecharran ( Julie) and they raised two sons together, Sanjay and Vijay. Anand worked for Wal-Mart in Middletown until two years ago.
In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by a grandson, Elijah Noel; his six brothers, Dianand and his wife Rohine, Vivekanand and his wife Babita, all of Middletown; Vishwanand and his wife Lela, and Ramo and his wife Sherry, all of Schenectady; Permanand and his wife Bola and Devanand and his wife Hema, all of the Bronx.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am at the Chapel at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Rt. 9W in Middle Hope, NY. Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
