Timothy J. Nichols, 59 of Montvale, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 2nd with his family by his side.
He was born to the late Thomas Nichols and Patsy Nichols Gillis in Harvey, IL. An avid music fan from an early age, Tim sang and played guitar and had his own teenage band Whisper. An accident ended his guitar playing but didn’t take away from his love of music, often making recordings for his family.
A 1976 graduate of Goshen High School, Tim also attended the State University of New York at New Paltz, majoring in international relations and business. Tim spent his entire professional career at Herzog, Heine, Geduld (later Merrill Lynch) in NYC, specializing in NASDAQ trading, taking a mid-career break to realize his dream of running a business on the Caribbean Island of Bequia in the West Indies.
Tim will be remembered for his humor, quick wit, intelligence (including the ability to always complete the NY Times crossword), and was happiest with a good book, his feet in the hot sand and a cold drink in hand.
Tim is survived by his loving sisters and brothers-in-law: Janice and Paul Owens, Nancy and Ronald Monaco, Susan Nichols and Howard Quick, Kelly and Kevin Messineo; along with nieces: Sandy, Alyssa and Julia, and nephew, Eric, as well as great nieces and nephew, aunts, cousins and friends.
At Tim’s request, services will be private.
