Thomas C. Paddock, formerly of New Jersey and a Middletown resident for four years, died at his home on September 4, 2020 surrounded by his devoted family. He was 88.
The son of James and Julia E. O’Dell Paddock, he was born in Middletown on November 16, 1931.
Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1954. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Wasilik on July 18, 1953 in New Jersey. Thomas owned and operated a small electronic shop . They raised three daughters and enjoyed taking cruises in their later years. An avid Yankees and Giants fan, he met many of the famous players, including Mickey Mantle and Thurmond Munson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy at home, whom he affectionately nicknamed “Cupcake”, his three daughters; Debbie Hiner of Catasauqua, PA., Donna Lind and her husband Paul of Petaluma, CA., and Doreen Morstatt of Middletown; his cherished grandchildren; Erica, Meghan, Courtney, Joseph, Ryan, Michael, Brittany, Ashley and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 3p.m.-5p.m. at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY and burial on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the family plot at Wallkill Cemetery, Midway Rd., Middletown, NY with Military Honors.
Friends are invited to both the visitation and burial. COVID restrictions will be observed.
The family requests that rather than flowers, a donation to Family and Friends for Freedom Fund, Inc., at 40 Woodland Place, Pompton Plains, N.J. 07444.
