Thomas L. O'Brien was the son of the late Katherine Cadogan and John Joseph O'Brien. He passed away October 26, 2021 at the age of 73 in Middletown, NY. He was a long time resident of Bloomingburg, NY.
Thomas was born in Yonkers, NY. He received his BA in accounting at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut and worked as an Auditor for the State of Tennessee for over 30 years. He was married to his loving wife, Nancy, for 49 years. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this January. He felt his greatest accomplishment in life was his loving Daughter Kristy and his Grandchildren. He had a close relationship with his Son in Law, Larry, that he admired. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and always encouraged his Daughter and Grandchildren to get involved in sports while achieving academic excellence.
He is survived by his devoted Wife, Nancy O'Brien from Bloomingburg, NY; His only Child, Kristy Williams and her Husband Lawrence Williams from Pine Bush, NY; His three grandchildren, Amya Wallace, Kiara Williams and Liana Williams from Pine Bush, NY; His brother John O'Brien and his wife Patricia O'Brien from New Paltz, NY and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his sisters Margaret and Kathy.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 29, 2021 at Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY from 2-4 and 6-8pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday October 30, 2021 at Infant Saviour Church in Pine Bush, NY.
