Thomas Edward Collins, a 47 year resident of Middletown, NY died on June 18, 2018 at home. He was 82. The son of the late Thomas P. and Marie Bogan Collins, he was born on January 16, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ. He graduated from Bergen Vo-Tech and worked as a construction engineer for 35 yrs. He was a member of the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers #363, a member of the Elks Lodge 1097 and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
His interests included anything related to audio and he enjoyed creating sound systems that would produce realistic, yet optimized sound for others to enjoy.
His physicians, Dr. Dinsmore and Dr. Ferguson have been wonderful in guiding him throughout his journey, as were all the members of the Hospice team.
He is survived by his wife, Rhoda; son, Mark; sisters, Janet Ulrich and her husband, Greg, Maureen-Collins Lapides and her husband, Earl; several nieces and one nephew and cousins.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23rd at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 High St. Bloomingburg, NY with Father Gus Graap officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Josephs Cemetery with Military Honors at 149 Cottage St. Middletown, NY.
