Obituary for Thomas Crummenauer
The son of Thomas and Mary Crummenauer, he was born in New York, New York on September 7, 1951.
After high school, Tom joined the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War (1970-1973). He married his sweetheart, Margaret Monaghan in1972.
He and Margaret moved upstate from NYC in 1975, where they raised their family. Tom thoroughly enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, training racing pigeons and cruising . Tom retired from Middletown Psychiatric Center Power Plant after 23 years of service in 2003. Together he and Margaret were devoted parents and doting grandparents to their four granddaughters.
Tom was a genuinely kind man , who always made all in his presence feel welcome. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. .He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1097 and enjoyed the fellowship of the friends he made throughout the years.
Tom is survived by his wife, Margaret, his three children; Thomas Jr., Kelly Mapes (Rich Perelongo) and Erin Crummenauer, his cherished granddaughters; Katelyn, Riley, Brogan and Raeanne, his brother, Michael Crummenauer (Iris Crummenauer) his sister Charleen Crummenauer (Dave Weigele) brother-in-law/sister-in-law Brian and Jeanne Monaghan, sister-in-laws Eileen Skelly and Theresa Watson as well as several nieces and nephews.
