Theresa Forestieri, a longtime area resident, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus. She was 83 years old.The daughter of the late Nicholas and Elisa Cassano Piccinni, she was born June 30, 1923 in New York City.A family statement reads: "Mom's whole life was her family. She took great joy in watching her grandchildren in all their endeavors, and her great-grandchildren especially made her smile."Theresa is survived by her beloved daughter, Elisa Stelmack and her husband, John, of Middletown; one sister, Livia Iorio; grandchildren, Jeannine Schade, her husband, Bob, John Stelmack Jr., Andrea Stelmack and Nicholas A. Forestieri; great-grandchildren, Hope and Robert Schade; nephews, Richard Iorio and Robert Iorio and his wife, Marie; and many grandnephews, nieces and cousins.She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony in 1977 and her son, Nicholas in 1989.Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, Friday, January 5, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 6, at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Ave., Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
