Obituary for Theresa A Dahl
Theresa A. Dahl, 70, of Middletown, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 19th 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer and several other health problems.
She was born on February 6, 1953 in Archbald, PA to the late Emma (Zwicharowski) Hromada and the late Raymond Hromada.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Dahl) Bodnar, her husband, Nicholas and their children, Nicholas and Emma from Olivebridge, NY and Carolyn (Dahl) Carbone, her husband, Kevin and their children, Casey and Andrew from Bloomingburg, NY..
Theresa is the oldest of three siblings, leaving behind Karen Minnett (John) from NJ, and Raymond Hromada (Ellen) from VA and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her aunt Angie Hromada and several cousins.
Before getting married and moving to NY, Theresa grew up in NJ. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and William Paterson University with her bachelors in nursing. She retired from Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was a home care nurse for many years.
Theresa was extremely involved in the lives of her family; always attended events in support of her grandchildren, as well as extended family. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, which took her to amazing places all over the country. Her other interests include reading, playing board games, watching Hallmark movies, and crafting specifically sewing. Over the years, Theresa created many projects for family and friends to enjoy; pillows, quilts, clothing, halloween costumes. Shopping was also a favorite pastime. She showed great generosity in the gifts she gave to others.
\A Visitation will be held at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home 130 Highland Ave. Middletown NY, on Monday Sep 25, 2023 from 2:00 Pm to 4:00 Pm and 6 Pm to 8:00 Pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in, Middletown, NY at 11:00 Am on Tuesday Sep 26, 2023 .
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made in Theresa’s name to St Jude’s or The American Cancer Society
