Theodore “Ted” Harden passed away peacefully on December 16, 2016 with family after battling cancer. Ted was born on June 10, 1943 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Josef and Helen Harden.
Ted was a creative inventor and scientist who had a voracious sense of adventure and loved the outdoors. Ted studied and worked as a cosmetic chemist for years pioneering cutting edge products. He married Carol Terry in 1967 with whom he had a daughter and a son. After the death of his wife, Ted married his current wife with whom he had another son and enjoyed more than 30 years. Ted loved hiking and camping, was skilled at knot tying, was a leader of the boy scouts, an avid cook and a true gadget guru. Ted’s passion for flying was constant throughout his life and he could often be found in his Cessna 150 in the skies above or at the airport.
Ted is survived by his loving wife Marianne, sons Terry and his wife Ryeon-Hwa and Tedde and his wife Megan, daughter Laura and her husband Neil, sister Flo and grandchildren Taejin and MiYeon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ted’s name may be made to Orange Sullivan County Hospice and American Cancer Society for cancer research.
Services were private for immediate family.
