Obituary for Theda Bruno
Theda Bruno
September 21, 1948-March 28, 2017
Middletown, NY
Theda Bruno, a retired administrative assistant for Clark Patterson, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 68.
The daughter of the late Bernard and Miriam Rothman Sherman, she was born on September 21, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY. She married George P. Bruno on November 18, 1966 in New York City and they celebrated nearly 51 years of marriage together. George and Theda moved to the Middletown area in 1990 from the Bronx.
She was the best mom ever, and a loyal and faithful wife. She was very generous and always took care of her children before herself. She taught her family that their friends would come and go, but your brothers would always be there. She was kind hearted and always knew a good deal. Theda was bright and studied and mastered Jeopardy and Scrabble ethics. She was a proud Coney Island girl and would go back to visit her old neighborhood. Her family brought her the greatest joy, and she especially enjoyed being a Grandma.
In addition to her loving husband, George at home, she is survived by her three sons, Brian and his wife Valerie of Suffern, Keith and his wife Christina of New York City, and Craig and his wife Hillary of Pittsburgh, PA; and her five cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Mason, Ronan, Hudson, and Gracelyn. She was predeceased by her sister, Rona Sherman in 2011.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Rabbi Rubenstein will officiate. Burial will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 1111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
