Thannipulli "Chris" Fernando of Middletown died suddenly on September 12, 2010 at ORMC Horton Campus. He was 34.
The son of Camilus Thannipulli and Gallage Nelie Placida Fernando, he was born on on May 24, 1976 in Sri Lanka. He married Cynthia Peoples on November 8, 2002 in Brooklyn, NY.
Chris was a loving husband and father who devoted the last 10 years to his wife and family. He was hardworking, and a true and faithful friend. He found joy in helping others and he will be sorely missed by all who knew friends, customers and family. Chris was also a talented runner who liked both playing and watching soccer.
In addition to his loving wife Cynthia , and his parents, he is survived by his sons Tymel and Jaelin and his daughter Mynia at home. He is also survived by his brother Gihan of Italy and sister Nisansala Anton and her husband of Sri Lanka.
Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage Street. Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
