Terry-Roxann Moore DeGraw

June 27,1954 – May 23,2024


     Terry-Roxann DeGraw, A lifelong resident of Middletown, NY passed away on Thursday May 23, 2024, at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 69.


      Terry-Roxann was born on June 27, 1954, in Middletown NY to the late William and Shirley Moore. Mrs. DeGraw was a graduate of Middletown High School.


      She then went on to pursue her dreams of education and went to Orange County Community College, where she graduated with her associates and then went on to attend and graduate from S.U.N.Y. New Paltz with her bachelor’s in education with a minor in special education. After Graduation, Terry-Roxann worked with the Pine Bush School District and then went to work for the Middletown School District as a substitute teacher and home instructor. She always had a passion for working with kids and would do anything for them.


     Throughout the years Terry-Roxann was involved in many things. At a young age she was a certified lifeguard and she taught swimming to kids of all ages. She was also an EMT and worked for the special Olympics. 


     Terry-Roxann was also a leader of Cub Scouts and later became part of the 4-H family where she became a leader

in teaching kids to grow into young adults. She was also part of several different clubs within 4-H.

Terry-Roxann was also actively involved in Grace Episcopal church where she was a Sunday school Teacher and the director for many years. After that she became a Member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Middletown where she

volunteered working for the food pantry and the Senior dining program.


     Terry- Roxann was also part of the Washington Heights Fire company where she held office as corresponding secretary and a social member. She was also a social member of Sparrowbush Fire Company. In Both fire companies she would be the

one you would see at all social and fundraising events. She was also the one who was at all the parades cheering everyone on and taking lots of pictures. If there was ever a major call, she would be the one to show up with refreshments for

everyone to have. Whenever anyone needed help, she was always there to support them whatever it may be. 

She was always a phone call away.


     Terry-Roxann is survived by her husband of forty-two years James DeGraw of Middletown, NY; their two children Taralyn-Marie of Middletown, NY and Kayla-Marie of Sparrowbushm NY, her adopted granddaughter Kiera Frey of Middletown, NY, adopted Dad, Lester Huebsch Sr. of Pine Bush, NY, two Goddaughters, Jackie Goddfrey of Stuart, FL, Melissa Purnell of Marlborough, MA, one Godson Clancy DeGroodt, Jr of Sun City, AZ as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

    

     At the request of the family, Terry-Roxann will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 1pm to 5pm at the Washington Heights Fire House. 

     

      A special thank you to Devita Orange Dialysis Center for the special care that was given to her though her treatments.
