Obituary for Teresa Ann Dryden
Our beloved Teresa Ann Dryden "Terri", age 57, passed away peacefully after a long illness on August 16, 2014. Teresa was born on July 5, 1957 in the Bronx, NY to the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh and Regina Dryden, the second daughter of nine children. She is survived by her daughter, Cassidy Valen and son, Cody Valen; sisters, Dawn, Patricia, Kathleen, Barbara, Janet and Jeanne; and brothers, Michael and Bruce. She is also survived by her nieces, Jennifer, Christina, Deborah Jean and Lindsay; and nephews, Thomas, Timothy, Zachary, Jaime, Matthew, Anthony, Stephen, Kenneth and James; plus four great nieces; three great nephews; and many cousins. She was dearly loved by her friend/partner, Linda Gabriel; longtime friends, Moriah Beattie and Renee Day; as well as her family.
Teresa graduated from Marymount College with a degree in Business Management and worked for 30 years at HCH Inc. in Food Service and Equipment Sales as Office Manager in Sparta, NJ. Terri was also a co-founder and long time Board member of OrangePride and was a certified Marriage Equality Ambassador for Marriage Equality New York. Terri’s legacy will be her kindness and generosity to all those in need, her loving heart and her dedication to Equal Rights and justice for all citizens.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
