Stephen J. Piampiano, Jr. 

Stephen J. Piampiano, Jr. of Middletown, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Westchester Medical Center after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was 52.

The son of the late Stephen J. Piampiano Sr and Elizabeth Piampiano, he was born on June 4, 1953 in N.Y.C.. Stephen retired from Con Edison in Westchester after over 30 years of service to the company.

A family statement reads:

“Steve was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend. He had a sense of humor that lit up everyone’s lives. He was an avid Yankee fan. He will be terribly missed by all.”

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Barbara Piampiano at home; his son Eric Piampiano of Chester; and daughters Elyse of Hyde park, NY and Cara Piampiano at home; his loving mother, Elizabeth Piampiano of Circleville; sister Linda Blake and her husband Barry of Circleville; brothers Joseph Piampiano of Circleville and Peter Piampiano and his wife Anne of Monroe, NY., father and mother in law Michael and Florence Canonico of Chester, sister in law, Donna Cananico of Chester, brothers in law  Michael Cananico and his wife Tootie of Middletown, and Christopher Cananico and his wife Chrsitine of Goshen. Stephen is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces. 

A private family visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2006 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, Ny.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY. Burial will follow in  St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 114 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY, 10940.

Memorial contributions in his name to be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 330, White Plains, NY 10605 or the St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital.
