Stanley Walter Glebocki, 82 entered into rest on Friday June 3, 2011 at his home in Beverly Hills, Florida. He was born on July 23, 1928 in Goshen, NY to Frank J. and Anna Rose Glebocki.

During his long life, Stanley pursued and was successful in many endeavors. Originally a produce farmer in the Black Dirt region of Orange County, NY he was a former bar and grill owner in Durlandville, NY. He was the founder of Sussex County Sod Farms from which he was retired. Stanley was an early pioneer of the sod farming industry in the region.

A family statement reads: “Dad was a wonderful father, doting grandfather and avid outdoorsman. Dad proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He will be forever remembered for his uncanny wit, voluminous knowledge of history, and his wicked sense of humor. Dad was a tough, hardworking, no nonsense man with a soft spot for his family and animals.”

Stanley is survived by eight children and several grandchildren: Joan O’Brien and husband, Thomas of Mahopac, NY and their children, Robert Bellas Jr. and Thomas O’Brien Jr.; Stanley Glebocki Jr. and his wife, Mary of Beverly Hills, FL and their children, Sophia and Jenna; Laurie Riehle and her husband, Anthony of Warwick, NY and their children: Eric, Ryan, Brendan and Toni Marie; Sandra Glebocki of New York City; Sheila Faith and her husband, Steven of New Hampton, NY and their children, Emma and Eric; Stacey Manter and her husband, Stephen of Phippsburg, ME and their children, Christian and Rutger; Joseph Glebocki and his wife, Bonnie of New Hampton, NY and their children: Brandon, Isabella, Avery, Brianna, Kayla, Stephen, Joanna and Joseph Jr.; Amy Eden and her husband, Christian of Goshen, NY and their children: Bianca, Kane and Fiona; granddaughter, Alexandra Glebocki, and four great grandchildren: Robert and Michael Bellas, Damien Riehle, and Owen Riehle. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph and his wife, Rita of Florida, NY and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife, Lucretia, their dear son, Stephen, and his brother, Frank Glebocki Jr. Stanley also leaves behind his much loved pup, Sputnik.

Visitation will be held form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10 at St. Joseph's Church, 14 Gelnmere Avenue in Florida, NY. Entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Rt. 9W, Newburgh.
