Stanley Sherman, a lifetime resident of Middletown, peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
Stanley was born on June 17, 1942 in Middletown to Henry and Pearl Sherman. He was one of seven children.
Stan proudly served his Country in the US Army and fought in Vietnam during the war.
He cherished his 30-year racing career and all the people who helped him make that happen and be successful. In 2019 he was inducted into the Historic Racing Community Hall of Fame.
He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, ski and golf. He enjoyed the beauty of our world and was fortunate to visit Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, Grand Canyon and many other places.
He was a carpenter by trade, but was also an auto mechanic, electrician, plumber, fabricator, musician, seamstress, cook and could build and fix anything. He was a true perfectionist and very generous with his knowledge as he taught his loved ones everything he had learned in life.
Stan was an amazing man who had such a loving heart and so many good friends.

Anyone who knew Stan will never be the same without him in their life but will always cherish how many wonderful memories he left us with. And how many jokes he could tell off the top of his head.
