Stanley Paul Stoltz a lifelong resident of the Town of Walkill, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021.
A graduate of Middletown High School, and attended Orange County Community College. His career started at the department of corrections, where he became a narcotic corrections officer then finished out his state service at the Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center in New Hampton. He was a general contractor for many years. He was also an owner of standard racehorses on and off for nearly 25 years.
Stan was the director of the Goshen Historic Track and later became general manager. He was also a former member of the Eagle Fire Company, Lions club and the Elks club of Middletown NY, and a member of the Orange County Golf Club.

His sports participations were many, he played softball both in the Middletown Firemen’s League with the Eagle Fire Department and in the city league. He also sponsored and coached several teams. He won the batting title with the Eagle Fire department team batting 550.

His main sport was football. He played for Middletown High school in 1950 and 1951 the played for the Middletown Blue Devils a semi-pro team. He was chosen best defensive lineman playing middle guard for 2 consecutive years. He then signed pro contract with the Baltimore Colts of the NFL by chief scout Keith Molesworth.

Stan was responsible for installing the first set of lights at Middletown Faller Field.

During his time, he became a Real Estate broker and land developer doing several projects in Orange County for the past 30+ years as Stan Stoltz Reality.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Stoltz of 59 years. His children, Michele Moretti and Marla Raffier both of Tampa Florida and his son Gregg Stoltz of the Town of Wallkill. His grandchildren Ryan Carr, Courtney Carr, Makayla Stoltz and Gianna Raffier. two brothers, Robert Stoltz and Donald Stoltz and many nieces and nephews.

Stan is predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Jean Stoltz, his sisters Joan Arciero and Deborah Kurzejewski and grandson Chad Fitzhenry.
