Stanley Palka of Middletown, formally of Waldwick, N.J. died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old. Stanley was born on November 3, 1924 to the late Stefan and Aniela Synos Palka in Brooklyn, NY. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Navy. He married the love of his life Catherine Planco on August 18, 1951 in Brooklyn, and together they raised their three loving children.
A dependable and loyal hard worker, Stan was a loving husband, father and grandfather who provided his family with sustenance, love and a great sense of humor.
Stanley is survived by his two daughters Kathleen Nemeth and her husband Gary of Middletown, and Eileen Perreca and her husband Nicholas of Brooklyn, son Stanley and his wife Theresa of Dunellen, NJ and eight grandchildren Stefan, Jillian, Christopher, Marc, Matthew, Nicholas Jr., Anthony and Brianna also many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Carl Hendrick of the O.C. Office of Aging and V.A, Physician’s Assistant Joe Burns, his reliable aides Sabrina, Dinah, Phyllis and his niece Jennifer for all their help, caring and love given to our father and grandfather.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday, October18, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY 10940. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday, `October 19, at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church. Burial will be in L.I. National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
