Obituary for Stanley J. Dodd
Stanley J. Dodd, a lifetime area resident, died at O.R.M.C Arden Hill Campus on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 as a result from injuries sustained in a fall 14 months ago. He was 70 years old.The son of the late Stanley R. and Dorothy Emilie Faller Dodd, he was born December 13, 1935 in Middletown.Stanley was a past member of the Middletown Elks Lodge #1097, the Hi Lo Hunting Club, Callicoon and past Capt. of the Eagle Fire Company, Middletown. He also was a former modified race car driver and partner of the New Vernon Tavern.He is survived by his loving companion of 27 years, Susan Jacobson at home; four sons, Michael Dodd of California, Mark Dodd of Middletown, Stephen Dodd and his wife, Kathy of Middletown, and David Dodd and his wife, Anne of Cuddebackville; his step mother, Jean Dodd of Middletown; three grandchildren, Kimberley, Kailynn, and David Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Flynn and her husband, Bill of Middletown, and Barbara Wingrove and her husband, Don of Leesburg, Fla.; one step brother, Gary Dodd of Wurtsboro as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.He was predeceased by his step brother, Robert Dodd.Cremation will be private.Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
