Obituary for Scott Barker
Scott Barker, of Middletown, NY, passed away peacefully in the arms of his family after a courageous battle with cancer on August 24th, 2021. He was 60 years old.
Born to Frances and Russell Barker, Scott went on to own a successful business, Decorative Lighting, Inc. He was known for specializing in the illumination of fine art. Scott’s passion for hard work, the outdoors, and music was exceeded only by the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband and a proud father and papa – his grandchildren were his greatest joy. His quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and generous spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Scott is survived by the love of his life, Mary Ann Barker. They were together for 44 years and married for 38. He is also survived by his adoring daughters, Jamie Johnston, Jaclyn Barker, and Jiana Barker; his grandchildren, Hayden Johnston, Rowen Johnston, Brantley Wilty, and Vivienne Wilty; his brother, Russell Barker and his wife, Susan; his sister, Kelly Germann and her husband, Steve; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Frances Trentini, and father, Russell Barker.
Visitation and memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 28th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY from 11 am - 1 pm.
