Scott A. Beemer, formerly of Middletown, lost his battle to cancer on Sunday, December 26, 2010 in Bellport, NY, surrounded by his loving family. He was 45.

The son of Mary (Betty) Beemer-Burke, he was born on January 6, 1965 in the Bronx. Scott graduated from Minisink Valley High School in 1983 and attended Orange County Community College. After he relocated to Bellport, NY, Scott worked as a mason and soon founded his own company, Stoneworks.

A statement from Scott's friends, who have organized a fundraiser on behalf of his family, read, “Young and vibrant, Scott gave tirelessly of himself to his friends, family and community. We will never forget his generous nature and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. With a wonderful sense of humor and a smile that could light up a room, Scott was a friend to all."

He is survived by his wife, Grace; and their children, Christopher and his wife Amy, Thomas and Grace Marie Beemer, all of Bellport, NY. He is also survived by his mother, Betty and brother, Peter T. Burke both of Mulberry, FL; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Anne and Bill Beemer and his stepfather, Tom Burke.

Visitation was held at Robertaccio Funeral Home in Bellport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Mary Immaculate Roman Catholic Church in Bellport and burial followed in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Medford, NY.

A Fundraiser to assist Scott's family with the financial difficulties they are

facing as a result of his untimely death has been scheduled for this Sunday in East Patchogue, NY. The Casino Fundraiser will be held Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 2 to 6 pm at Sunset Harbour, 90 Colonial Drive, East Patchogue, NY. Tickets are $60 per person and include $20 of raffle tickets, buffet and beer, wine and soda. For information please call Nelli Kavander at 631-965-7314 or e-mail at beemerfriends@gmail.com.
