Obituary for Sarah J. Crawford
It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah J. Crawford, announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the age of 37.
Sarah, the daughter of Stephanie Capria-Spalin, was born December 15, 1980 in Nyack. She was a faithful Yankee and Giants fan, and never turned down the opportunity for a good classic rock concert. Sarah was a graduate of SUNY Oneonta, enjoyed running, playing softball and spending time with friends and family. In the words of her favorite musician, Billy Joel, “lullabies go on and on, they never die that’s how you and I will be”.
Sarah is survived by her mother: Stephanie Capria-Spalin and her husband Scott Spalin of Warwick, NY, her sister: Denise Adan and her husband Steve Adan of Boston, MA, her brothers; Stephen Crawford and his companion Annmarie Sabovick of Edison, NJ and Joseph Crawford and his companion Jennifer Ortiz of Monroe, NY, her maternal grandmother: Connie Capria of Montgomery, NY her niece and nephew; Luciana and Clark, her aunt: Beverly Hamilton, her uncles: Dominick Capria, Peter Capria and his wife Beth, Ralph Capria and his wife Sylvia and Martin Crawford and his wife Paula. Sarah was predeceased by her life long companion, Michael C. Niemann, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 4-7 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown. A funeral service will be said during the later portion of the visitation.
