Sara B. Post (91) passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023, with her family lovingly by her side.
Born October 5,1931 to Elizabeth “Betty” (Dolce) and Michael Biondi, Sara lived her young life in Richmond Hill, Queens and Goshen, NY with her three brothers, Nicholas (Martha), Albert (Carmel) and Michael D. Biondi.
Sara was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Alfred C. Post, Sr., her parents Elizabeth and Michael Biondi and two brothers, Nicholas and Albert. They resided in Middletown, NY and raised their daughters and son. Roseann Sellers (Howie Buck) of Melbourne Beach, Fl; Elizabeth Friedman (Gary) of Merrick, NY; Sarah Lynne Hutton (Patrick) of Johnson, NY; Michelle Knowlton (Michael) of Mount Hope, NY; Alfred C. Post, Jr. (Heather) of Port Jervis, NY. Sara was very proud of her work at the Times Herald Record and Middletown Psychiatric Center raising her children but as they got older, she worked as a secretary at SUNY Orange in the Chemistry Department and then for the Middletown Enlarged City School District.
As Sara and Al grew older, they enjoyed living near the water, at their beach house in Melbourne Beach, Florida and Yankee Lake house in Sullivan County, New York. She adored spending time with her children and their families and creating many happy memories in both places. Her brother, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be forever grateful for the moments spent at her piece of paradise.
Sara was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was generous to many charities and organizations. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before her.
She will be missed dearly by her seven grandchildren: Paige Sellers of High Falls, NY; Catherine “Katie” Menti (Mitch) of Hoboken, NJ; John Sellers of High Falls, NY; Olivia Hutton (Jesse Clune) of Port Jervis, NY; Zachary Knowlton (Leila Saleh) of Mount Hope, NY; Emilie Hutton of Johnson, NY; Hannah Friedman of Merrick, NY and her two great-grandchildren Isabella Menti of Hoboken, NJ and Amelia Clune of Port Jervis, NY.
