Sandra L. Phillips, a lifetime area resident, died following a courageous battle with multiple illnesses. She was 55.
The daughter of Louise Jacaruso Phillips and the late Oswald Phillips, she was born on August 20, 1962 in Spring Valley, NY. Sandra was a strong fighter who battled illness over many years. She always kept a smile on her face, throughout her struggle. She loved her Sonic slushies, soap operas and Jerry Springer. She was sometimes stubborn, and was always blatantly honest. She had a great sense of humor and could make others laugh even no matter what the circumstances were. She was loved, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends who are happy her suffering has ended.
Sandra is survived by her only daughter, Amber King at home, her mother, Louise Phillips; and three sisters, Joy Lloyd of Willington, NC, Cindy Schiavone of Spring Hill, FL and Robin Blair of Deland, FL and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Oswald Phillips, she was predeceased by her companion, Amber’s Dad, Randolph King in January of this year and her brothers, Thomas and Michael Phillips.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private.
