Sadie B. Moody "Sally", a lifetime Middletown resident, died at her home on Sunday, February 1, 2015. Sally was 95.
The daughter of the late John and Laura Bergen was born on October 25, 1919 in Unionville, NY. Sally Moody worked as a secretary for Middletown Psychiatric Center. Sally married Willard P. "Bill" Moody who predeceased her on January 4, 2003.
Sally and Bill were civically active and worked together on many local programs and projects. Sally and Bill loved to entertain in their home and were fortunate to have traveled together extensively. Sally and Bill were active long-time members of the United Presbyterian Church of Middletown.
Sally was a gifted pianist. She was a grand lady who was sweet and classy. Sally made an impact on her community through her volunteer work and her dedication to the welfare of others.
Sally is survived by her cousin, Irene Lowe, and her daughter Judy.
Visitation hours will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, February 9th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sally's name may be made to the Ray B. Moody Breast Center at ORMC, 707 East Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
