Ryan Hamilton, formerly of Middletown, died unexpectedly on October 24, 2009 at his home in the Outer Banks, NC. He was 36.

The loving son of Dennis and Helen Hamilton, Ryan was born on June 26, 1973 in Middletown. He grew up in the Middletown area and in 2001, he moved to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

Ryan's passion was always music and he enjoyed many years playing the drums in a local band, Uproar. He always said, “the best thing that ever happened to him” was his daughter and he truly adored her.

In addition to his beloved daughter, Kate A. Hamilton, he is survived by his parents of Middletown, his sister, Andrea Dragos and her husband Richard of Pine Bush, his former wife Irina, friend and mother of his daughter; his treasured niece and goddaughter, Alyssa Miller; nephew and “buddy”, Justin Gilson; his special Aunt Kim and her husband Gary Kirk of Kansas and a lifelong family friend, Kathy Wronka and his grandmother, Beverly Conkling, lots of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends here and in North Carolina.

Visitation hours are from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at the funeral home at 7 pm. Cremation will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, Ryan's family requests memorial contributions in his name to be made to a trust fund for his daughter, Kate A. Hamilton, c/o Helen Hamilton, P.O. Box 4167, Middletown, NY 10941.
